Notable Changes From Previous Years
TRX’s 6.2-litre supercharged V8 is in its last production, and it has several new features to improve off-road comfort and capabilities. These include an ultra-premium center console badge, bead-lock-capable wheels, and patina stitching on the seats and dashboard. Also standard across models is the tailgate ajar warning lamp.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The standard infotainment system is a 5-inch touchscreen display with Uconnect 3 multimedia system and six speakers. High-end models have a larger 12-inch display with the improved Uconnect 5. Both support several standard and available features, including a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM with a six-month subscription, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. A customizable head-up display is also optional.
Exterior Design
The timeless massive front grille with black inserts, automatic quad-halogen headlamps, and the Ram logo introduces the bold exterior of this truck. Higher up the lineup, LED fog lamps, LED taillamps, and body-coloured fender flares add to this menacing appearance. Base models have 18-inch wheels with an option for a larger 20-inch with different finishes.
Interior Design and Comfort
Several cubby storage options are available in the spacious interior of the Ram 1500. Standard features include black vinyl floor coverings and a 12-volt power outlet. Higher trims add power sliding rear windows, dual-zone automatic temperature control, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, and the Mopar off-road floor mats.
Performance Features
A 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine with eTorque is standard on the Tradesman and Big Horn. It provides 305 horsepower, 269 lb-ft of torque and 7,710 pounds of max towing capacity with a fuel efficiency of city/highway 11.9/9.4 L/100km.
The 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine is available for all trims except the TRX and provides 395 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque, and 12,750 pounds of max towing.
The 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 is the most powerful engine and is standard on the TRX. It pumps 395 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque and 12,750 pounds of max towing.
