Dodge is marching towards its future in the E-Muscle revolution in style. The company released the "Last Call" editions to give the Challenger and Charger a proper send-off. The Last Call edition started in 2023 with the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, which recalls the 2016 concept based on the 1971 Chally. The brand announced the second of the seven special edition models as the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee.
History of Super Bee
The Dodge Charger Super Bee is a limited-edition muscle car produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler Corporation from 1968 to 1971. It was based on the Dodge Coronet and featured a two-door body style, available in either coupe or convertible. The Dodge Charger Super Bee was a popular and successful muscle car, with over 55,000 produced between 1968 and 1971.
Its impressive power and handling made it a favourite among drag and street racers. The car has become an iconic symbol of the muscle car era and continues to be popular today with classic car enthusiasts. The Super Bee also features in many movies and television shows, making it one of the most recognizable muscle cars of all time.
Besides its impressive performance, the Charger Super Bee has a unique styling sets it apart from other muscle cars of its era. It features an aggressive-looking honeycomb grille, distinctive "Super Bee" graphics alongside the body, and special hood scoops. The interior was also spruced up with bucket seats and a performance-style dashboard.
Exterior Styling
The 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee is more than decals, rebadging, name, and special exterior colour. The model will have only 1,000 units, with 500 going to the Scat Pack Widebody in Plum Crazy and 500 to the Scat Pack in B5 Blue. The vehicle features unique exterior badging on the grille and front fenders. The rear fenders come in blue for the B5 Blue, while the front fenders feature decals on the hood.
Other exterior features include a functional hood scoop and 20 by 9.5-inch knurled wheels for the Scat Pack and an 18 by 11-inch drag wheel for the Widebody. The tires feature standard drag radials. These specially designed tires provide superior grip and traction for drag racing. These tires feature tread patterns with increased rubber-to-road contact, allowing improved acceleration and braking performance. They also have increased sidewall strength to handle the extreme loads experienced during drag racing.
Performance Features
The new model of the Super Bee features Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS). The suspension system provides drivers with improved comfort, performance, and safety. The suspension system uses sensors to monitor road conditions and adapts the suspension settings accordingly.
